Ayatollah Khamenei Says Islam, Arab Nations, Palestine Betrayed
TEHRAN (Kayhan Intl.) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Tuesday the United Arab Emirates has betrayed the Islamic world and the Palestinians by reaching a deal toward normalizing ties with the occupying regime of Israel.
"The UAE betrayed the world of Islam, the Arab nations, the region’s countries, and Palestine,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in a speech.
"Of course, the UAE’s betrayal will not last long, but the stain of this infamy will remain on them forever.”
The Leader said, "The Emiratis will be disgraced forever for this treachery against the Islamic world, Arab nations and Palestine.”
Ayatollah Khamenei made his comments as a delegation of senior Zionist and U.S. officials, including White House senior adviser Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, concluded a trip to Abu Dhabi to finalize the pact.
"The Palestinian nation is under severe pressures from all sides. Then, they connive with the Israelis and malicious American agents – such as that Jewish man from Trump’s family – against the interests of the world of Islam and act against the world of Islam with utmost cruelty,” Ayatollah Khamenei said, referring to Kushner.
"I hope Emiratis wake up and compensate for what they did.”
The delegation arrived in Abu Dhabi on an El Al flight on Monday, the first direct commercial passenger flight between the UAE and Occupied Palestine.
The deal is the first between an Arab country and the occupying regime of Israel in more than 20 years. It has outraged Palestinians who have condemned the deal as a "stab” in their back.
"The UAE rulers opened the door of the region to the Zionists, and they have ignored and normalized the question of Palestine,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Leader also touched on the West’s efforts to influence the educational system of other countries. He cited the Education 2030 plan proposed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
"Today, the Western social philosophy has proven to be a failure, even in the West itself, and its elements of corruption are quite visible from Hollywood to the Pentagon,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Leader underlined the need to be sensitive to the enemy’s influence and infiltration.
"The enemy seeks to achieve what it is unable to do through military means by infiltrating and using instruments such as the 2030 Agenda. It aims to foster some human beings who can carry out its agendas so that the ground is paved for plundering nations.”
The Leader also thanked the Iranian nation for observing health protocols during Muharram ceremonies. Ayatollah Khamenei described mourning ceremonies this year as phenomenal, saying they will stay eternally in the history of the country.
