A review of poems by Sunni poets will prove their loyalty, respect for Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
Sheikh Ebrahim Ebrahimi, Friday prayer leader of the Sunni community in Iran’s southern island of Qeshm lauded the third Shia Imam for leaving a legacy of anti-oppression and counter-arrogance as the most important lessons for humanity, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).“Confrontation with oppression and arrogant powers are the most important lessons Imam Hussein (AS) has taught on the Day of Ashura” said the senior Sunni cleric and stressed that the lessons should be followed by all Muslims in modern era.
Sheikh Ebrahim Ebrahimi stressed,” A review of poems by Sunni poets will prove their loyalty, respect for Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).”
Prayer leader of Konar Siah in Qeshm Island highlighted the sorrow of Sunni community for martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions in the Battle of Karbala and counted that a common feeling between Shia and Sunni Muslims.
He noted,” Imam Hussein (AS) fighting the Battle of Karbala has saved the honor of Islam in history” and added,” Imam Hussein’s (AS) blood is the honor of Islam.”
Iranian Sunni prayer leader made the comments on the eve of Ashura, martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), fighting against Yazid ibn Muawiayah, tyrant ruler of the time in the Battle of Karbala back in 680 AD.
