Lajos Szaszdi: US Aims Coronavirus at China, Iran

TEHRAN (FNA)- Lasjos Szaszdi, researcher and professor of politics, says coronavirus is a US-made biological weapon aimed at China and Iran to win the trade war with the Chinese and bring down the Iranian State.
In an exclusive interview with FNA, professor Szaszdi said, “[Close ties between Tehran and Beijing] would translate in an expansion of the Covid-19 epidemic from China to Iran, using the Covid-19 epidemic to shoot two birds with one shot. Such a suspected biological attack would have apparently failed to achieve decisive and destabilizing results in Russia and North Korea.”
Lajos Szaszdi Leon-Borja, Ph.D., World Politics, is a senior researcher and analyst of international relations and foreign policy. He is a professor of international relations and West Asia politics at Inter-American University of Puerto Rico.
Below is the full text of the interview:
Q: There are speculations coronavirus has been manufactured in the US. Is there evidence that Washington is behind the killer virus?
A: Even though the US Administration conducted biological warfare tests with germs on the American people for twenty years, from 1949 to 1969, as part of its efforts to prepare the United States for a biological attack in case of a world war with the Soviet Union, I can only speculate using circumstantial evidence, gathered through open sources intelligence.
The Italian state TV RAI produced a report back in 2015, in which it was argued that Chinese scientists developed a “super virus” to cause pneumonia in mice by combing a protein presumably from the coronavirus of bats with the SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) coronavirus that would be inserted in mice. The report said that although the US initially funded the project, it cut off funding due to the dangerous nature of the experiments, as it was demonstrated that the super coronavirus could cause pneumonia in humans, and be transmitted directly from bats to humans.
Through open sources intelligence, I found out that a US Government scientific institution funded the development of a coronavirus suspected of being Covid-19, which was developed also in a lab but in the US, and which was subjected to several mutations. The institution that funded this project endorsed a recent study that rejects that the Covid-19 coronavirus was engineered in a laboratory, claiming that it is a new type of virus that evolved by way of natural selection. If this conclusion is just a cover-up to hide the US origin of Covid-19, then we are open to more possibilities in terms of how such dangerous coronavirus got from a lab in the US to China. A professional opinion firmly rejected that Covid-19 came from animals and nature, strongly believing that it was man-made, developed in a laboratory.
The Japanese TV Asahi Corporation was reported to have suggested that Covid-19 might have been introduced to China accidentally by US servicemen who participated last October in the 2019 Military World Games held in Wuhan, the Chinese city where the Covid-19 epidemic was reported last December. The Chinese Government later echoed that possibility. That suspected contagion by US military sportsmen could have been accidental, if, as suggested by the US scientific study that claims that Covid-19 is a new coronavirus spun by nature and not made by man, Covid-19 may have been around for a while without being as virulent as it is now, and that it may have been confused with the seasonal flu in the US.
Then again, if Covid-19 did not occur by natural selection and adaptation but that it was in fact engineered in a laboratory in the US, and here I am speculating, then its release in China would not have been accidental but deliberate, presumably as part of a hybrid war supporting the US trade war with China, as an attempt to knock it out as a competitor for the commercial benefit of the US.
Q: China and Iran were hit first by the deadly virus. How do you view this?
A: If Covid-19 was used as a biological weapon by the US, here speculating, it would have been used to back the ongoing trade war by disrupting Chinese economic life, industrial production, tourism, international investment, and Chinese financial markets. Knowing that Iran is a close ally of China and that Tehran is highly dependent of Beijing as an economic lifeline in the face of strangulating and destabilizing US sanctions, they might have calculated in the US – the speculation goes - that such close economic and trade ties would translate in an expansion of the Covid-19 epidemic from China to Iran, using the Covid-19 epidemic to shoot two birds with one shot. Such a suspected biological attack would have apparently failed to achieve decisive and destabilizing results in Russia and North Korea – at least not yet.
However, I believe strongly, in the event that the Covid-19 epidemic was after all a US biological attack aimed at China and Iran (to win the trade war with the Chinese and to bring down the Iranian State), that its disastrous effects in Europe and now in the US – and potentially in Hispanic America and Brazil also, were unintended, that the plan backfired hurting unintended targets, namely Europe, Israel, and the US.
I can also speculate the other way around, that if Covid-19 was made in a Chinese laboratory, that it was released as the Chinese answer to US threats and trade war, to show who is the boss on Earth, that when China sneezes, the world shakes, and that a China of 1.5 billion citizens can absorb an epidemic like Covid-19 – and at the same time cool tempers in Honk Kong – but that the West, Europe and the US, cannot stand for long a crisis that is shaking its social, political and economic fabric and foundations. In fact, China is seemingly back into business and ready to send assistance and sell medical supplies and medicines, while Europe and the US are in a pandemic meltdown.
