The Quest for Cure as Coronavirus Spreads Worldwide

By:Kayhan Int’l

O’ Allah! I seek Your refuge from leprosy, insanity, mutilation, and all other forms of serious illnesses”.
This is one of the several supplications that comes to mind at a time when not just the Islamic Republic of Iran, but almost the whole world seems to have been affected by a dangerous and deadly epidemic called ‘coronavirus’.
Though scientists and doctors are trying their best to find an antidote to this virus which has reportedly affected tens of thousands people, it is time for humanity to reflect upon their misdeeds and seek forgiveness from the All-Merciful Lord.
Unfortunately, we have violated the laws of nature by misusing science for destructive purposes, instead of creative causes, as is evident by the industrially advanced powers distortion of nuclear and related technologies to manufacture not just bombs to wipe out humanity, but experiment with biological and chemical weapons merely in order to be called a superpower and continue terrorism worldwide.
The prime example is the US, history’s most evil regime to this date, followed several lesser devils.
Now, instead of pointing fingers, we need to work and coordinate with each other with God-oriented goals and the sense of remorse of repentance to tide over this crisis, which has so far claimed 12 lives out of the reported 43 coronavirus infections in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Coronaviruses are similar to influenza viruses in that they are both single strands of RNA, and the the World Health Organisation (WHO) chief said the world should be working harder to contain the spread of the deadly new coronavirus, and should be preparing for a "potential pandemic”.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told reporters in Geneva that so far, the WHO does not consider the outbreak that has killed more than 2,600 people a pandemic, but said countries should be "doing everything we can to prepare for a potential pandemic”.
As we go to the press, Italy has locked down 50,000 people in 10 northern towns to contain the first major coronavirus outbreak in Europe, as fears grow of a spread across the continent.
Rapidly expanding outbreaks in South Korea, following those in China and Japan, are raising fears of a pandemic on multiple continents.
Viral infection has now spread to nine West Asian countries, with more than 79,000 cases worldwide. Kuwait, Bahrain, Afghanistan, Iraq and Oman on Monday reported their first infections from the coronavirus, which has killed more than 2,600 globally, the vast majority in China.
All said and done, it is time behave like human beings, rather than beasts or devils in human forms, by returning to God and His commandments as conveyed to humanity through a long line of prophets, culminating in the universal message of Islam to Prophet Muhammad (SAWA).
