Majority of Jews Worldwide View Netanyahu as the Prime Agent of Global Insecurity

Following a terrorist attack on Australian Jews near Bondi Beach in Sydney during the Hanukkah celebrations, Israeli media have pointed the finger at Iran, despite the attackers being of Pakistani and Algerian nationality. In this context, Taghrib News Agency(TNA) interviewed Shirzad Abbasian, an international political affairs analyst.

Framing Iran for the Sydney Attack

Responding to why Iran is being blamed for the Sydney incident, Abbasian noted that the hatred felt by Muslim populations in the West toward Israel is a natural reaction to the "vengeful" atrocities committed in Gaza. He argued that the West labels this as Iranian influence because Iran stands at the forefront of the global Islamic awakening.
"They seek to isolate Iran and force European nations to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization," Abbasian said, "simply because the IRGC is the only entity effectively standing against their hegemony."
The Aftermath of the 12-Day War
Abbasian highlighted that the recent 12-day conflict between Iran and the Zionist regime shattered the illusion of Israeli invincibility. "Even critics of the Islamic Republic acknowledge that this war boosted the confidence of the Resistance. It proved that through unity, the bullying powers cannot prevail. While the enemies aimed for regime change, 99% of Iranians abroad condemned the Israeli attack, exposing the regime's hollow status."
Netanyahu’s Political Survival and the "Puppet" Role
The analyst emphasized that Netanyahu views perpetual warfare as his only means of staying in power. "Netanyahu knows that the moment the war ends, the Israeli public will hold him accountable for the deep internal divisions and military failures. He is using war to prolong his political life."
He further characterized the relationship between Washington and Tel Aviv, stating: "America treats Israel as a tool, not an end. Netanyahu acts like a puppet, generating 'Iranophobia' so that the US can secure massive oil, security, and arms contracts with Arab nations. The US can discard him whenever he no longer serves their interests."
Jewish Opposition to Zionism
Abbasian concluded by distinguishing between the Jewish faith and Zionist extremism. "True followers of Prophet Moses (AS) who do not subscribe to Zionist ideology—many of whom live outside the occupied territories—condemn Netanyahu’s genocide. They believe his actions have brought shame upon the Jewish community and made the world less safe for everyone."
He added that approximately 800,000 settlers have no deep roots in the land and are increasingly seeking to leave due to the lack of security, especially after Iran's direct military response, which has left them with no motivation to remain in the occupied territories.
