Speaking during the meetings, Wang said China is ready to “strengthen all-round, mutually beneficial cooperation,” deepen work in emerging and future industries, and reinforce traditional energy cooperation, while opening “new prospects for the China–Saudi Arabia comprehensive strategic partnership.”
The remarks were later released in official statements following his meeting with MbS during an official visit focused on bilateral consultations.
Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its adherence to the one-China principle, which recognizes that the government of the People’s Republic of China is the sole legal representative of Beijing and that Taiwan is an inalienable part of its territory – a stance vehemently opposed by the US.
MbS said Riyadh firmly supports China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and opposes external interference in its internal affairs, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
He added that Saudi Arabia seeks to deepen cooperation with Beijing in oil and gas, new energy, artificial intelligence (AI), and high-tech industries and emerging technologies.
Earlier, Wang and Bin Farhan co-chaired the fifth meeting of the Political Sub-committee of the China-Saudi Arabia High-level Joint Committee.
During the meeting, Wang said Beijing views Riyadh as a priority in its West Asia diplomacy and is willing to work with the Saudi kingdom to elevate bilateral ties to new heights.
Saudi officials also said Riyadh is willing to promote the early conclusion of negotiations on the China-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) free trade agreement.
Both sides agreed to enhance coordination on regional and international issues and to continue supporting each other on matters described as core interests.
The joint statement released following the meeting said China supports Saudi Arabia in developing and enhancing relations with Iran and “appreciates Saudi Arabia’s leading role and efforts in promoting regional and international security and stability.”
The statement also confirmed the signing of an agreement on mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, service, and special passports.
The two sides reiterated support for “a comprehensive and just settlement of the Palestinian question” in accordance with the two-state solution, relevant UN resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Saudi officials welcomed China’s role in regional affairs and expressed support for Beijing’s hosting of the second China–Arab States Summit and the second China–GCC Summit in 2026.
Both nations said they would maintain close communication to advance major bilateral agendas and multilateral coordination.
