Mashhad to host conference on recreating Islamic civilization

The third edition of conference titled “Role of Islamic Denominations in Recreating Islamic Civilization” to be held in Iran’s northeastern city of Mashhad as part of efforts to achieve Islamic unity.

A deputy at Sunni seminary scheduling council, Abolfazl Qassemi, said the scientific-religious event is meant as a practical step in line with revival of the Islamic civilization that hires the high capabilities of Iranian Sunni and Shia elites, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said,” The conference aims to promote the Islamic civilization discourse, interaction of the Shia and Sunni scientists and also explaining the role of Muslim scholars in formation of the new Islamic civilization.”

According to Qassemi, several scientific meetings between the Shia and Sunni scholars were held as prelude to the conference.

He added that the upcoming conference will be held in four categories, the first of which is Fiq’h with the sub-topics: people and political fiq’h, government fiq’h and contemporary challenges as well as the political fiq’h and international relations.

The other three groups include: Hadith, mysticism and literature while the fourth group is for women.

The second edition of the conference was held in two-day event in Iran’s southern city of Bandar Abbas in early February 2024.
