Iran put forward 8 proposals to develop ties with SCO states

TEHRAN, (MNA) – Addressing the 8th SCO Science Ministers' Meeting held in Moscow, the head of the International and Scientific Cooperation Center put forward Iran's eight proposals for the development of cooperation with SCO states.

Sharing infrastructure and laboratory facilities among members, awarding scholarships, and financial aid in line with the interests of the Shanghai Organization were among the suggestions made by the Islamic Republic of Iran in this meeting.

Omid Rezaei Far suggested that the member states of Shanghai put the promotion of scientific and technological cooperation through the exchange of researchers and scientists on the agenda.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has participated in the eighth meeting of the Education Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, nearly a year after the country officially joined the Eurasian economic, political, security and defense bloc.

The meeting took place in the Russian capital Moscow on Thursday. This is the first time that Iran participated in such a meeting after it became an official member of the SCO in July 2023.
