Iran’s Two-year Economic Growth Doubles

Alwaght- According to the Iranian Statistics Center, the economic growth of last year under administration of President Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi was 4.8 percent, more than double the growth of the previous administration that was 2.2 percent. 

This year, too, a similar growth rate is predicted, the center said. 

The center said that in 2022, the industry sector has been the driving force of the growth among other sectors. 

It also announced the growth of various sectors of the country's economy in the winter of last year, according to which the growth of the industrial sector has reached 11.9 percent, unprecedented since 2016. 

These data were followed by a report from the Central Bank which suggested the positive growth of the Iranian economic continued in 2022, reported Fars News Agency. 

According to the released data, the growth of GDP in all seasons of 2022 had an upward trend, so that from the first quarter to the end of the fourth quarter of the last year, the growth rate of the country was equal to 1.9 percent , 3.9 percent, 4.9 percent and 5.3 percent respectively. 

Big industries grow 9.6 percent 

According to the statistics of the Central Bank, the total production index of the country's large industries increased by 9.6 percent in the 2022 compared to the year before and reached the highest level in the history of the country's industrial production. 

In 2022, the growth of production of large industries in the spring, summer, fall and winter seasons was 3.1 percent and 13.2 percent, 9.5 percent and 12.8 percent respectively, and in total, during the year, the production of these industries grew by 9.6 percent. The highest production growth rate was for summer with 13.2 percent and winter with 12.8 percent. 

Motor vehicles manufacturing has had the biggest growth of 28.6 percent, the report suggested.
