Thanks God, wisdom did finally prevail in Iraq and a grave sedition plotted by the US and the illegal Zionist entity to pit members of the country’s long oppressed majority against each other in a bloody conflict, and that too on the threshold of the anniversary of the grand Arba’een commemoration in the holy city of Karbala, was averted.
The Americans are the sworn enemies of the Iraqi people, as they are of the people of Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Bahrain, Yemen, Egypt, Turkey, and all other Muslim lands.
Washington hates to see a stable, politically powerful and oil-rich Iraq under a unified national government representing the various strata of the society. It is terrified of the fact that an independent Iraq will definitely be an indispensable link in the chain of the Resistance Front stretching from Iran to the Levant for the goal of liberation of Islam’s former qibla, the al-Aqsa Mosque and all of Occupied Palestine.
That was the reason the Yankees had unleashed the macabrely murderous takfiri terrorists on Iraq in 2014 through the borders of Turkey and Jordan simultaneous with their destabilization of Syria through the same seditious outfit.
If not for mobilization of the Iraqi masses by Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Sistani, and the timely advisory and military help rushed to them by the fraternal and friendly Islamic Republic of Iran, through Martyr Qassem Soleiman in league with the Hashd ash-Sha’bi under such famous figures as Martyr Abu Mahdi al-Mohandis, the Land of Tigris and Euphrates, along with Syria, would have turned into a Takfiristan stretching from the headwaters of the Persian Gulf to the eastern Mediterranean shores.
The Americans very well know that they may have cowardly killed Soleimani and Abu Mahdi, but they have not been able to kill the Islamic aspirations of the people of Iraq whose natural attachment to the brotherly people of Iran could not be shaken in spite of the 8-year war the US had imposed in the 1980s through Saddam of the repressive Ba’th minority regime in a vain bid to create bad blood between the Muslim peoples of the two neighbouring countries.
Now we better understand the recent crisis and the nefarious role of US agents, who have infiltrated the ranks of certain political parties in Iraq and for the past ten months following the parliamentary polls, have prevented efforts to form an all-inclusive government.
This time, the Americans and the Zionists had almost succeeded in plunging Iraq into an intra-Shi’a Muslim civil war, as was evident by the initial occupation of the parliament and then the presidential palace by duped demonstrators.
Fortunately, the timely awakening of factional leader, Seyyed Moqtada Sadr, to the national mess that was being created in his name, and his ultimatum to the unruly crowds to peacefully disperse, has prevented a likely bloodbath in Baghdad and other cities.
It is better for politicians to come to their senses, even belatedly, than never realizing the impending dangers.
For the Islamic Republic, which has called for dialogue between all the political groups for early formation of a broad-based government, the unity, territorial integrity and security of Iraq is paramount, and the more stable Iraq is, the more it will benefit both nations.
To quote the latest foreign ministry statement from Tehran: “Iran has always wanted a stable, secure, and powerful Iraq that plays a constructive role in regional developments and has never withheld its support for Iraq’s political and legal processes and institutions.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran, expressing its satisfaction with the return of peace to Iraq while asking for [Divine] mercy for the dead and wishing the injured in the recent incidents [good] health, appreciates the patience, wisdom, and tactfulness of the government and people of Iraq and all legal institutions of the country in overcoming this gave sedition.”
Hopefully, Moqtada as-Sadr will keep his word to quit politics and devote his time to religious studies. This will certainly instill in him the “Hussaini Spirit” to serve the country and the Ummah better, with a more magnificent commemoration of the Arba’een anniversary every year on an international scale.
