US Lies on Coronavirus Exposed

By: Kayhan Int’l

It is rather unfortunate that at a time when almost the whole world is in the grip of a deadly disease that knows neither political borders nor geographical barriers, the US is playing dirty politics with its usual hypocrisy and heaping of lies.
The unseen and stealth killer, also known as coronavirus or COVID-19 was declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern by the World Health Organization (WHO), yet Washington wants to persist in its blind enmity towards China and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
First identified in Wuhan, China, as of March 10, 2020 more than 111,000 coronavirus cases have been confirmed worldwide.
Though not on such a large scale as China, the next two countries in the grip of coronavirus are Italy and Iran, while South Korea is also facing a catastrophe on a national scale and the US about to be hit by this lethal epidemic despite the idiotic remarks of President Donald Trump and his team of international terrorists.
In the wake of the new virus, where medical supplies are needed for each and every country which is desperately trying to import the medical equipment which they need, the "Great Satan” is once again playing its mischievous games against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
First Washington accused the Islamic Republic for not handling the situation well and wrongly claimed that it is Iran which is now spreading the virus.
Last week, WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom in an interview with CNBC said that the World Health Organization has its own mechanism for checking national health authorities’ statistics and did not see any problems with Iran for handling the situation.
A senior WHO official has said that he was impressed to see how Iran is fighting the spread of a coronavirus that has infected thousands of the people across the Islamic Republic.
Richard Brennan, WHO’s Director of Emergency Operations, said on Sunday that he was specifically satisfied to see efforts to contain coronavirus in Qom, the holy pilgrim city 135 kilometers to the southwest of the capital Tehran where the outbreak of the disease began less than three weeks ago.
"Very impressed by the dedication and hard work of the doctors and nurses and health workers here in Qom,” said Brennan at a briefing with reporters, adding, "The people of Qom should be very proud of their health workers.”
Brennan said he had personally seen in a hospital in Qom how the patients were receiving "very good care”.
Meanwhile, to counter the claims of the US, Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh lashed out at Washington for claims that Tehran’s import of medicine and other humanitarian goods are exempt from Washington’s unilateral sanctions.
He called such claims "a very big lie”.
Zanganeh said that US sanctions have specifically targeted the Iranian people and not just the government of the country. He said the Americans should be held into account for making life difficult for the Iranians, especially the poor living in the country.
Iran, which possesses advanced medicinal technology, owes its progress and independence to the dedication of its professional workforce, and is not in any need of US support or supplies in this field.
Just because the US is lying, we feel it necessary to counter American claims.
The Iranian nation has full confidence in Divine Assistance, and will indeed emerge stronger from the effects of this epidemic that has been greatly controlled by the vigilance of the dedicated doctors and the faithful.
