Trump would fail to separate Quds from Muslims

Several Muslim scholars in Iran have joined the wave of condemnation of the US recognition of the occupied al-Quds as the capital of Israel in interviews with the Qods News Agency (Qodsna).

Representative of Kordestan province in the Leadership Assembly of Experts, Mamoustan Rahimi said the US decision was a foolish act by the US President, Donald Trump, adding however that the measure would further unite the Muslim community.

Mamousta Rahimi said Muslims must beware against the enemy conspiracies and keep their unity more than ever.

For his part, aide to Islamic Revolution Leader said the US was not a guardian of the world to cede the capital of a country to others.

Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri said Israel seeks to divide Muslims and pit Muslims against one another.

Also, former Iranian lawmaker, Hojatoleslam Mirtajodini said the US recognition would hasten the fall of Israel.

“Quds is the first Qibla of Muslims,” he said, adding Trump would rather know that the occupied city of al-Quds is a red line for over one billion Muslims worldwide.

Also, Secretary General of the Global Assembly of Ahl ul-Beit, Ayatollah Mohammad Hassan Akhtari said the Muslim scholars have a duty to counter the US recognition.

He said Quds lies in the heart of Muslims, adding the US could not separate the occupied city from the Muslim community.

And, Egyptian scholar, Sheikh Tajoddin Hilali said the US recognition was an extension of the western policy that surfaced in the Balfour Declaration.

Hilali said the US ‘had sought to extend the life of the cancerous tumor in the region’ through the decision.
