By pursuing unawareness within the world of Islam--masses of people and Muslim nations--they desire occupation over Holy Quds and al-Aqsa Mosque, weakening the Palestinians as much as they can. We must direct our attention towards this ploy.
All people must ask their governments to pursue Palestinian issues. The Islamic Ummah, especially, should ask their governments to pursue issues regarding Palestine: This is an important and major responsibility. We thank God that in the Islamic Republic, the government and the people share this belief. From the beginning, the Islamic Republic government and our magnanimous Imam [Khomeini] announced and raised the policy of supporting Palestine, showing enmity towards the Zionist regime. Today, this policy has continued: It has been 35 years now, since we have not deviated from this path, and our people too are supportive with complete eagerness.
Sometimes, a number of youth, whose requests are not granted in this regard, write letters to me. They write in an insistent manner, "Allow us to go and fight against the Zionist regime in the front lines." Our people love fighting against the Zionists, and the Islamic Republic has proven this as well...
I am sorry, from the bottom of my heart, that today we have to focus our attention on problems that an arrogant power has created within our world of Islam. This is while we should focus all our energy into confronting the plots of the Zionist regime and actions they made against Holy Quds and al-Aqsa Mosque. These issues should move and stimulate the entire Islamic Ummah. There is no other option. Presently, attending to the issue of Takfirism is something that has been imposed on the ulama, activists, and scholars among the Islamic world; and in fact, the enemy has brought this problem into the world of Islam as a custom-made product; therefore, we have to tend to it. But, the main problem is the Zionist regime; and the main concern is the issue of Quds, which involves the first Qiblah for Muslims: al-Aqsa Mosque. These are the main issues.
