Mikati in a meeting with Qalibaf: Our priority is a ceasefire

The interim Prime Minister of Lebanon welcomed the Speaker of the Islamic Council of Iran in Beirut.

Tehran - ISNA - Lebanon's Interim Prime Minister Najib Mikati welcomed Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Speaker of Iran's Islamic Council in Beirut and emphasized that Lebanon's government's priorities at this stage is to try and reach a ceasefire.

In his meeting with Qalibaf, Mikati added: We emphasize Lebanon's adherence to the implementation of Security Council Resolution 1701 and strengthening the presence of the army in southern Lebanon and establishing the necessary contacts with countries and the United Nations to put pressure on Israel to fully implement this resolution.

In this meeting, Mikati and Qalibaf discussed the latest developments in Lebanon, the situation of Lebanese refugees and the need to stop the Zionist regime's aggression against Lebanon and the humanitarian aid provided to this country.
