Boroujerdi: Iran must increase its level of deterrence

Emphasizing the need to increase Iran's military capabilities, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran's Islamic Consultative Assembly said: We agreed not to have a nuclear bomb, therefore, apart from that, we must increase all capabilities and compensate for the shortcomings, so that the level of the deterrence would become greater than before.

Tehran - ISNA - In an interview with ISNA, Alaeddin Boroujerdi stated: Deterrence is the key to maintaining security all over the world, and there is a similar procedure in Iran, so we must increase our capabilities as much as possible, which the Islamic parliament supports.

He added: In a situation where the Europeans and Americans were against increasing our missile capability, we increased our capability, and if this did not happen, the situation would be different now.

This member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Council stressed: We agreed not to have a nuclear bomb, therefore, apart from the nuclear bomb, we will add any necessary capability and compensate for the shortcomings, we must even have the capability of jet fighters which are very important and serious power and everything is interpreted in the direction of increasing the level of deterrence.

In the end, he emphasized that to achieve all these things, coherence is necessary.
