The day Imam Khomeini returned from exile

February 1, 1979, a historic day for the Iranian nation, is the day on which Imam Khomeini - the father of the Islamic Revolution – returned home after 14 years in exile. The 10-day period between Imam Khomeini’s return and the day on which the Islamic Revolution was declared victorious is celebrated in Iran every year as the 10-Day Fajr (Dawn). (File photos by IRNA)
