Tehran (ISNA) – The governments of Iran and Iraq agreed to open Consulates of the two countries in cities of Mosul and Isfahan.

Iran has agreed to the Baghdad government's proposal to open an Iraqi consulate in Isfahan, considering the significant number of Iraqi tourists visiting this city and the number of Iraqi students studying in Isfahan universities.

Currently, Iraqi consulates are operating in the cities of Kermanshah, Mashhad and Ahvaz, and the embassy of this country is in Tehran.

Also, Iran requested to open its consulate in Mosul.

Iran has consulates in the Iraqi cities of Najaf, Karbala, Basra, Erbil and Sulaimaniyah, and the Iranian embassy is also active in Baghdad.
