Iran criticizes US for taking side with rioters

New York, IRNA – Iran foreign minister who is in New York to attend the 77th UN General Assembly here on Sunday criticized the US for taking sides with rioters in Iran

Hossein Amirabdollahian in his series of meetings with his counterparts on the sidelines of the UNGA, continued consultations with his counterparts, pursuing President Ebrahim Raisi cabinet's foreign diplomacy.

The foreign minister during his Friday and Saturday meetings totally met and conferred with 17 of his counterparts in Europe, west Asia, Latin America and Africa, as well the head of the International Red Cross Society.

Those meetings were besides holding 13 more diplomatic meetings at heads of states and prime ministers' level in the presence of President Raisi.

On Friday and Saturday Amirabdollahian met and conferred with the foreign ministers of Austria, Sweden, the Netherlands, Jordan, Brazil, Kuwait, Eritrea, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Armenia, Nicaragua, Iraq, Syria, and the Head of the International Red Cross Society Peter Maurer.

In the middle of his very intensive daily agenda, Amirabdollahian also had a press conference with the New York-based reporters, in which he said that Iran is participating in the Vienna nuclear talks with good will aimed at reaching a good agreement.

"We have informed the Americans that we are both rational and have good will for reaching an agreement," he said.

The foreign minister reiterated that the American side has many times during the past days told us that they, too, have good will for reaching an agreement, and we told them that therefore, rationally prove your good will so that we can reach an agreement.
