Which one has Extra-JCPOA demands; Iran or the United States?

BY: Pooya Mirzaei

When the US president officially admits that he has designed the structure of sanctions in such a way that it is not possible to revive JCPOA, it means that the US administration has officially acknowledged its role in slowing down and stopping the negotiations.

NOURNEWS
 - Negotiations between Iran and the P5 + 1 have stalled, with the Americans citing Iran's demands for a post-conflict settlement, and proposing a solution to the issue as Iran's entry into the post-settlement talks.

In this context, the US State Department spokesman "Ned Price" said; We will not negotiate publicly, but we reiterate that if Iran wants to lift sanctions beyond JCPOA, then it must respond to concerns about issues outside JCPOA.

If they do not use these negotiations to resolve bilateral issues (other than nuclear issues), we are confident that we will be able to reach an agreement on BRICS quickly and implement that agreement again.

He claims that Iran's request to remove the IRGC from the list of terrorist and sanctioned groups is a transcendental issue that is not accepted by the United States.

Iran's accusation is made by claiming the demands of JCPOA, while a look at the course of developments in JCPOA since the withdrawal of the United States until today shows which side of JCPOA has extra demands.

JCPOA emphasizes that the United States has no right to impose new sanctions on Iran in addition to lifting sanctions, while former US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew from JCPOA in 2018 and a year later added the IRGC to the list of foreign terrorist organizations. FTO) contract.

Therefore, including the IRGC in the list of terrorist groups is a step beyond JCPOA, and if the United States really wants to return to JCPOA, it should lift Trump's sanctions, including sanctions against the IRGC.

At the same time, when Trump left JCPOA, he announced that he was looking to design a structure according to which it would not be possible to return to JCPOA and that the policy of pressure and sanctions against Iran would continue.

According to the same view, after leaving JCPOA, Trump imposed a series of sanctions on the pretext of human rights and counter-terrorism against Iran, which even went so far as to restrict the entry of Iranians into the United States.

Interestingly, Biden has claimed a different approach to Trump, but recently, under the same pretext of Trump's sanctions, prevented the famous Iranian singer from entering the United States for serving in the Revolutionary Guards.

The fact of the matter is that a new round of Biden-era negotiations has begun between Iran and the JCPOA parties, while the Biden administration has also sought to impose the conditions created by Trump as JCPOA on Iran at no cost.

Although Biden has entered the talks claiming to return to JCPOA, he still refuses to make a political decision, and with propaganda in the media about Iran's insistence on the withdrawal of the IRGC from sanctions and demands beyond JCPOA and, of course, before claiming Russia's demands, seeks to bring the cost of negotiations to Iranian.

However, Iran's position as a member of JCPOA, which committed itself to fulfil its obligations in good faith even a year after the withdrawal of the United States, has not changed and has not made any demands outside of its accepted rights in JCPOA, naturally, he will not deviate from this position either.

The US's irrational approach to JCPOA and the use of Trump's sanctions structure to blackmail the talks become clearer when State Department spokeswoman Jalina Porter says Joe Biden agrees with Gen. Mark Millie, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, that the Quds Force is a terrorist organization.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken did not comment explicitly on the IRGC's removal from the list of so-called foreign terrorist organizations, but reiterated the allegations and said in response to a question whether he considered the IRGC a terrorist organization. : Yes

Robert Malley, who led the US team in the Vienna talks, also told the Doha conference that many of the sanctions imposed on Iran would continue even if an agreement was reached. He stressed that sanctions against the IRGC would continue even if a nuclear deal was reached.

The point is that; When the US president officially admits that he has designed the sanctions structure in such a way that it is not possible to revive JCPOA, the US administration has officially acknowledged its role in slowing down the negotiations and accepting that the ball is in Washington's court.

On the other hand; The Supreme Leader of the Revolution and the negotiating team have stated from the very beginning that the situation in Iran is clear and that the lifting of all sanctions is a testament to Iran's lifting and the West's assurance that past commitments will not be repeated. It guarantees Iran's sovereignty and security, has no negotiations, and the West must forget these transcendental aspirations forever.

Biden must get rid of the illusion that he can build a bridge out of his deadlock and frustration over JCPOA against Iran, so his only option is to accept a political decision to end all anti-Iranian sanctions and give up an expression of extra- JCPOA demands.
