Today, the 4th of July, is a national holiday in Yankeeland, which every year marks the 1776 Declaration of Independence from Britain of the 13 rebellious New England colonies that banded together as the United States of America – although freedom was not achieved until the British surrender in 1783 and recognition from London had to wait till the end of the 1812-14 war between the two sides during which Washington and the White House (built by black labourers) were burned.
In 1776 when the “Vakil e-Ra’aaya” (Representative of the People) Karim Khan Zand still ruled powerful Persia, the average Iranian had the least idea of those insignificant events on the other side of the world, while amongst the political elite even the conscious statesmen were not at all interested in the revolt of some ragtag English settlers in newly discovered America against their motherland.
In other words, Iran as well as the Old World civilizations, were unaware that the obscure ‘Declaration of Independence’ was actually sowing of the seeds of global terrorism by the riffraff whose lack of faith, culture, ethics, etiquette, and all other humanitarian values, would soon make them embark on genocide of the indigenous ‘redskin’ Americans, followed by enslavement of the black people of Africa, and expansion of the USA into the most evil empire that the world has ever seen.
Yes, this blood-shedder of tens of millions of people around the world, in an act of cowardly terrorism on the 3rd of July 1988 shot down near the Persian Gulf island of Hengam, an Iranian passenger on its regular four-days a week flight from Bandar Abbas to Dubai, killing 290 unsuspecting travelers including 66 children.
A heinous crime indeed, as part of American independence day celebrations, by Will Rogers – the criminal captain of the warship USS Vincennes – who had intruded into Iran’s territorial waters to commit this blatant act of terrorism for which the US has never apologized to the Iranian people, while continuing its crimes against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Yesterday, the 33rd anniversary of this unpardonable crime, the Iranian nation paid tributes to the souls of the martyrs that included nationals of several countries by sprinkling flowers on the water graves.
Do we really expect such a terroristic regime to ever respect the Iranian people, or for that matter the other independent countries and movements of the region?
The answer is a big No. As the Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA), had warned any idea of relations between Iran and the US is like hoping for a gentle sheep to sit together with a rapacious wolf.
Those in doubt should look at the fate of the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action) on Iran’s inalienable nuclear rights for peaceful enrichment of uranium and how the US criminally violated this international accord to renew its policy of terrorism against the Iranian people.
Moreover, any understanding with the US would be an affront to the souls of the passengers of Flight 655 whose curse will eventually bring about the downfall of the evil empire.
Certainly, the future belongs to the Muslim people of Iran who are determined to defeat the US and drive out the CENTCOM terrorists from the entire region.
