The civilized world is in a state of shock since last Wednesday as the video of a ghastly racist Islamophobe by a white man in Sydney, Australia, went viral.
As is clear by the footage released by the CCTV of the Parramatta Café, where the 31-year old Rana al-Asmar, who is 38-weeks pregnant, happened to dine with two of her lady friends, a burly man is seen approaching the table where the Muslim women are seated.
In a rude manner he leans across the table to start what seems to be a heated argument. Then suddenly he starts punching the pregnant Muslim lady several times. When al-Asmar falls to the floor, the attacker who was nabbed by the police and identified as 43-year Stipe Lozina, brutally stomps her head, until he is pulled away by several people.
For the moment a potential case of murder has been averted with hospital reports indicating that the expectant mother was lucky to escape with minor injuries, while the unborn child is safe and in normal condition.
But, as observers point out, this is not the first case of a racist Islamaphobe assault in Australia and will not be the last in a country where according to official statistics the rabidly anti-Muslim tendencies promoted by the media and certain politicians, have turned over 48 percent Australians Islamophobes.
Wasn’t Brenton Tarrant, who earlier this year in March committed an act of mass terrorism at a mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand, by gunning down in cold blood 50 Muslim worshippers, an Australian citizen?
Didn’t that same anti-Muslim terrorist haughtily bragged in his manifesto that he sees US President Donald Trump as "the symbol of renewed white identity and common purpose?”
So who are the real terrorists and what is their purpose behind their bestial attacks on Muslim individuals, Muslim communities, and Muslim countries?
The answers are obvious in the eerie silence in the corridors of power in Canberra, where no official condemnation has been issued by the government of last Wednesday’s atrocious assault on a Muslim lady by a racist Islamophobe.
Unlike Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand who wasted no time in donning a scarf, visiting the blood-spattered mosque and meeting the families of victims to offer her sympathies, Australian Prime Minister Scott John Morrison, who blindly supports Trump’s terrorist policies against the Islamic Republic of Iran and has sent ships to assist the intruding US navy in faraway Persian Gulf, is not expected to condemn the Sydney Parramatta Café racist-terrorist assault.
The least he could have done was to express sympathies of support for the victim of Sydney’s attack, but he has not.
Rana al-Asmar is not a migrant, neither is she connected to any political group that might be accused of supporting terrorism, nor has the lady, her parents, and her co-religionists occupied Australia to deprive its inhabitants of their birthrights.
Born and brought up in Sydney, she is as much an Australian as her white attacker Lozina – whatever his ethnic origin – or for that matter Premier Morrison, whose name indicates British-Scottish ancestry, rather than local aboriginal roots.
Moreover, al-Asmar is a law-abiding citizen of Australia, free to practice her religion, Islam, in accordance with the constitution of the country, including her right as a Muslim lady to cover her hair with a scarf.
Such a practice ought not to be offensive in any manner to any onlooker, especially to Christians accustomed to seeing from childhood the portrait of the Virgin-Mary (the mother of Jesus) with her head decently covered.
Are the likes of Lozina, who seem to burst into unwarranted rage on seeing a hijab-clad Muslim lady and indulge in near manslaughter, willing to tear down Mary’s picture, along with the infant Messiah in her lap, or burn churches because of the presence of wimple-wearing nuns in places of Christian worship?
So, who are the prime provocateurs, the true terrorists, and the actual occupiers of Australia?
The answer provides the plain and painful truth. The whites who rule Australia and who discriminate against Muslims and other migrant communities, are not the original inhabitants of this vast land. They are they the actual occupiers and descendants of invaders who slaughtered the Aborigines.
