US Government Shutdown Might Lead to Trump’s Impeachment

By: Kayhan Int’l

Who says the US is a democratic country with a constitution based on the interests of the citizens and as a big power strives for peace and harmony on the international scene?
Ever since the end of World War 2 and the emergence of the US as a super power, except for the gullible, no one had ever believed in Washington’s claims of being a welfare state, especially in view of its ruthless genocidal policy that saw the original 13 New England states on or near the Atlantic coast, seizing the lands of the native Amerindians and then occupying with brutal force the Mexican territories of the Hispanics.
Apart from its apartheid attitude towards citizens of African descent, the US as a capitalist society, is actually a dictatorship of the superrich holding the fate of the rest of the Americans in ransom.
This has become crystal clear in the present government shutdown imposed by Donald Trump, who failing to force the Congress to release funds for building the apartheid wall on the Mexican border for depriving the Hispanic and Amerindians of their right to migrate north to the US to partake in the flourishing economy, has plunged the whole administrative system into chaos, thereby ruining the life of the ordinary civil workers.
It is true, this is not the first time that the US government has announced a shutdown. Throughout the US history, shutdowns have happened due to the fiscal or budget differences between the President and the Congress, but what Trump is doing has exposed the real face of liberal democracy as a flawed system where the capitalist dictators rule under guise of people’s representatives, without caring for the people.
For the information of our readers a government shutdown occurs when Congress objects to the Executive Head’s demands for passing bills to fund federal government operations, or the President refuses to sign into law such bills and resolutions.
In such a case, the so-called Anti-Deficiency Act is interpreted as per the whims of the federal government to begin a "government shutdown” in order to force the Congress to bow to its demands, since such a situation requires the furlough of non-essential personnel and curtailment of agency activities and services, which means essential employees, including medical professionals, are forced to work without pay until the government reopens,.
What a mockery of state laws and the constitution, with total negligence for the essential security of the poor employees!
The current shutdown that the US is facing is not just due to the undiplomatic policies of Trump towards Mexico, but his inhuman nature in ordering separation of migrant parents from their children, which has so far resulted in several deaths of the innocent children.
These childish policies of Trump, who has tried in vain to force the Islamic Republic of Iran into submission by imposing illegal economic sanctions after illegally exiting from the 7-nation international accord, and who openly endorses the killing of the Yemenis by his Saudi friends as well as the unabated terrorism of the Zionist regime against the Palestinians, is driving the US towards an "infinite or endless loop”.
Whatever the differences between Trump and the Congress the victims are both the federal employees and the non-postal federal employees. As per the latest reports, 400,000 out of 800,000 federal employees are expected to be furloughed because of the shutdown, in addition to 2.1 million non-postal federal employees.
In other words, because of Trump’s intransigence, this great number of American workers, who have families to feed, will either be forced to work for free or will be simply become jobless.
We in the Islamic Republic of Iran, who are also the victims of US oppression for the past forty years, do not rejoice at the misery of the ordinary Americans. We, however, hope that the shutdown which Trump, oblivious of the sufferings of his own citizens, says might continue for years, will lead to his impeachment and exit from the White House, as the Democrat majority of the Congress has not ruled out.
