The presence of Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator along with President Ebrahim Raeisi in New York will be a good opportunity for the European Union and the E3 group to push the United States to “meaningfully resolve the few remaining issues” regarding the revival of a 2015 nuclear deal.
Iranian political analyst, Mohammad Marandi, made the remark in a tweet commenting on the upcoming trip by the Iranian president and Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani to New York for taking part in the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
He warned that by “stonewalling” the talks on the restoration of the nuclear deal and foot-dragging in the negotiation process, the United States “will needlessly make winter more painful”.
His tweet reads: “As Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator Dr. Ali Bagheri will be accompanying the President, it will be a good opportunity for the E3/EU to push the US to meaningfully resolve the few remaining issues. By stonewalling & foot-dragging the US will needlessly make winter more painful.”
