Yet another new year of the Gregorian calendar has begun, and we earnestly hope that it will arouse the conscience of humanity, especially the leaders of nations who have become devoid of all humanitarian values and have plunged the Planet into wars, bloodshed, poverty, misery, misfortune, and homelessness.
The West claims to be Christian but it has no regard for the principles to which Prophet Jesus (AS) adhered and he endeavoured to guide people towards the straight and unwavering path of the One and Only God Almighty, Who is far too glorious to have the need for any son, or for that matter, wife, a daughter and family.
As a matter of fact, because of moral bankruptcy in the West, 2020 started with bloodshed in both the U.S. and the U.K. If in America, revelers high on drinks bashed each other with some ending up with fractured skulls and bleeding faces, in Britain, some five persons including two women were stabbed by knife-wielding teenagers.
Meanwhile, in Baghdad, American guards at the U.S. embassy again violated diplomatic norms on the first day of 2020 by firing tear gas shells at Iraqis demonstrating peacefully against the latest act of Washington’s state terrorism last Sunday in attacking a base of the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) on the Iraq-Syria border and martyring 31 personnel in addition to wounding over fifty others.
Since, Wednesday the 1st of January coincided this year with the auspicious 5th of Jamadi al-Awwal, the blessed birthday of Hazrat Zainab (peace upon her), the Prophet’s granddaughter who nursed Islam back to life after the heartrending tragedy of Karbala, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, in his address thousands of personnel of the medical profession, took note of this specific issue.
He said: "The Americans must realize how the regional people, including those in Iraq and Afghanistan, hate them for the crimes they have perpetrated, and that this hatred would eventually seep out somewhere.”
It seems that the U.S. has attacked the anti-terrorist PMU to avenge the defeat of its agents, the Godless Daesh Takfiri terrorists, who were funded and armed to teeth by Washington and its vassal states of the Persian Gulf.
For his part, Donald the dotard in a terroristic tweet on the start of the New Year blamed Iran and threatened the Islamic Republic for the events in Iraq, which have nothing to do with Tehran and are the consequences of American crimes against the people of Iraq.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s response to the idiotic tweet of Trump was logical and crystal clear. He said: "First of all, you are damned wrong and you cannot do anything, because this matter has nothing to do with Iran. Secondly, you ought to be reasonable – which you are not – and try to understand what the root causes of these incidents are.”
Saying that the Americans are far from being sensible, Ayatollah Khamenei in his speech on January 1 added without mincing words that if Iran wants to do anything it would do it openly and directly.
Perhaps, the insensible Donald Trump wants to show his fellow Americans that his impeachment was unfair and by his terrorist attack on Iraq he is on the right track in implementing the infamous extraterritorial policies of the U.S.
But one thing is clear, the critics inside the U.S. are holding Trump for any escalation of the latest incendiary incidents.
U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tweeted that "Escalation and violence must end,” House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff said, "We need to be clear-eyed about reducing tensions and the path forward.” Senator Tim Kaine tweeted: "Trump’s malpractice in the region is making us less safe. Time for Congress to stop this foolish rush to war.”
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution in his speech provided examples of U.S. misbehavior, which have given rise to widespread anti-American sentiments and anger in the region, including the atrocities committed by infamous private military company Blackwater in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as the massacre of thousands of Iraqi civilians and scientists.
He pointed to the visits by American officials to certain regional states without advance notice or proper authorization from the relevant governments as an example of the disdainful U.S. behavior towards the sovereignty of nations.
2019 had seen Arab states of the Persian Gulf backstabbing the Islamic Ummah by moving closer to the illegal Zionist entity, thereby betraying the oppressed Palestinian people.
These were some of the principal events of the year that went by. Although there was a deadly fire in Australia and massive flood in other parts of the world along with other natural disaster that made 2019 disastrous, 2020 appears to be more disastrous with no sign of relief for either the people of Yemen or the oppressed Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar driven out from their homes, as well as the American aggressed Christian nations of Latin America.
So what is the point in celebrating the New Gregorian Calendar Year with messages of hypocrisy from Trump and the other leaders of the West, including France which continues to be rocked by the popular Yellow Vest Movement?
To sum up, 2020 is not expected to bring any relief to humanity.
