Tehran (Qodsna)- Hamas Representative in Tehran Khalid al-Qadoumi in an exclusive interview with qodsna spoke about the major effects of Iranian 1979 revolution especially on the Palestinian issue.
Since its victory, the Islamic Revolution of Iran put its priority on the basis of supporting the Islamic world and Palestine at the top of it, he said, adding that “Iran's Islamic Revolution paid attention to the Palestinian issue at the very beginning of its victory by focusing on the priority of Palestine and by naming the International Quds Day, it revived the Palestinian issue”.
He stated that the relationship between Islamic republic of Iran and Palestine is a fundamental and solid relationship.
Hamas Representative in Tehran continued: “Before the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Iran was the American gendarme of the region and provided all the interests of America in West Asia and represented the Zionist-American domination system in the Middle East and considered as an ally of America and the Zionist regime, as well as the enemy of Palestine. However, with the victory of the Islamic Revolution, this equation was completely changed and the Islamic Republic of Iran moved towards helping and cooperating with Palestine”.
He went on to say that the Zionist regime’s former prime minister, Yitzhak Rabin described the victory of the Islamic Revolution as a great earthquake that will soon affect the entire region and will destroy Israel, adding that; This was an accurate comparison because the light that shone with the victory of the Islamic Revolution in the darkness caused by the oppression of the oppressors and arrogant invaders was like an earthquake that changed the equations and started the countdown to Israel's destruction”.
The victory of the Islamic Revolution should be considered as a real and potential defeat for the Zionist regime. It means an earthquake that would destroy Israel in the future, Al-Qadoumi noted.
Pointing to the changes Iran's continued support for Palestine brought to the conflict equation with Israel, Hamas envoy said” For the Palestinians, Iran's Islamic Revolution was not only a helper in the material and military fields, but Iran was a big brother in various political and propaganda fields, as well as transferring experiences to the Palestinian society and its resistance”.
“In fact, the progress we are witnessing today in the field of resistance is due to this strategic alliance between the Palestinian resistance and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Therefore, I believe that this successful and strategic alliance against the common enemy of the Islamic Ummah, i.e., the Zionist regime will continue until the liberation of Al-Quds and the freedom of Palestine from the river to the sea”.
He added: "It is true that the liberation of Palestine is a definite promise in God's will, but the Palestinian society, both now and in the future when Palestine will be free, owes the nation of Iran, the Islamic Revolution, the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini and Ayatollah Khamenei and the martyrs, especially the martyr Qassem Soleimani".
