In the city of Samarqand, the ancient centre of Islamic culture in the Republic of Uzbekistan, a couple of days ago Iran formally joined the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) as its 9th full member at the annual summit, which was also attended by the executive heads of India and Pakistan, the two nuclear-armed traditional rivals of the Subcontinent – both extra cautious in avoiding any confrontation despite their differences.
This, however, is not the case with Israel and the US, the two dangerously nuclear-armed rogue regimes involved in provocative attacks in their quest for igniting the fires of bloody conflicts.
If the NATO-designed war in Ukraine is a glaring example of Washington’s lawlessness, including the recent attack on Zaporizhzhia’s Nuclear Power Plant in a vain bid to blame Russia, the increasing intensity of the Tel Aviv regime’s aerial attacks on Syria’s civilian installations is without doubt a pretext to impose a war on the government in Damascus.
The latest Israeli attack on Damascus international airport, in the wake of similar missile attacks on Aleppo airport, has left five Syrian soldiers martyred, and is indeed a cause of concern.
It is a matter of regret that the UN, has kept mum over these criminal activities of a racist/terrorist entity which almost every day slaughters more and more of the oppressed and unarmed Palestinian people and bulldozes their homes and hearths.
This is indeed the height of hypocrisy, of not only the so-called World Body, but also of the leading West European regimes, which claim to be advocates of human rights and democracy.
What, if Syria, which has hitherto exercised patience and restraint were to immediate exercise its right of retaliation and target the airports of Tel Aviv and Haifa?
The whole western world would be crying hoarse in such a case and using all sorts of abusive words against President Bashar al-Assad, and even calling for its overthrow – as they did and failed in the 11-year long war they had imposed on Syria through some of the world’s most macabrely murderous terrorists.
Israel, however, has the license to kill without accountability, while the Syrians, or for that matter the Palestinian people, are not allowed to retaliate.
Such a situation will definitely not last long. Sooner than later Syria has to respond to Israeli crimes, and when the hour of retaliation comes, all hell will break loose on the Zionists.
The Americans who are in occupation of parts of Syrian territory and looting the oilfields of Dayr az-Zore, in addition to carrying out their own unprovoked attacks on the Syrian people, will also face the doomsday scenario.
