Freed Prisoner Affirms Belief in Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (+Video)

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Recently released as part of a temporary ceasefire agreement between Hamas and the Israeli regime, a Palestinian prisoner expressed steadfast support for the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement Hamas.

"When I and other Palestinian prisoners became aware of the Palestinian resistance operations within the occupied territories, we all cheered with immense joy," Sara Abdullah Sweisa stated in an interview with Press TV.

However, Sweisa recounted how Zionist forces retaliated by storming their cells, subjecting them to targeted assaults, and implementing severe restrictions on access to water and food. This oppressive treatment often led to their isolation in solitary confinement.

Reflecting on the prisoner exchange and their newfound freedom, Sweisa shared conflicting emotions. "Our happiness stemmed from liberation and release from the grip of Zionist captivity," she explained, "but our sadness was for the significant number of martyrs in Gaza who lost their lives due to Zionist attacks."

Expressing a resolute belief, Sweisa affirmed, "We believe in God and the Palestinian Islamic resistance," concluding with a heartfelt plea for divine mercy upon the martyrs of Gaza.

The Israeli regime has released 39 imprisoned Palestinian women and children as part of a swap deal and amid a temporary ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The inmates were exchanged for 13 Israeli prisoners taken captive by the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas during its al-Aqsa storm operation last month.
