The Iranian Intelligence Ministry said in a statement on Monday the country’s security forces have arrested members of the central core of the Baha’i spying party.

It added the detained members were directly in organizational contact with a Zionist center, known as the “House of Justice”, in occupied Palestine, IRNA reported.

According to the statement, the ministry’s findings indicate that last year, the Zionist center had ordered the busted network to adopt the strategy of reviving the organizational structure of the astray Baha’i sect in Iran and had tasked it with the mission of gathering intelligence information and widely promoting the misleading and artificial teachings of the sect through infiltration into the Iranian education system at different levels, particularly the preschool one.

The ministry added the network members also had held numerous meetings outside Iran with the Zionist center’s cadre to present reports of their missions in the country.

The Intelligence Ministry gave the assurance that regardless of the propaganda scenarios and the psychological operations of the Zionists and the West, it will determinedly and seriously continue to fulfill its responsibility of protecting the Iranian-Islamic identity and culture and Islam against attacks by the Israeli regime and its mercenaries and spies.

On Saturday, the ministry said its forces had arrested a Swedish national on espionage charges.

It added the Swedish citizen was on its anti-espionage unit’s list of suspects due to his suspicious behavior and contacts during previous visits to Iran, Fars News Agency reported.

It added a few months ago and following the detention of another European spy, the Swedish national had traveled to Iran, this time tasked with the mission of obtaining information about how the seized person’s identity had been uncovered and the amount of data the Intelligence Ministry had managed to obtain from him.

The Swedish national had trips to Israel on his record prior to visiting Iran.
