At last, the two corrupt and bloodthirsty regimes of the United States and Israel began their extensive aggression against the territory of our country in the early hours of Saturday, 28 February. So far, more than 85 children have been martyred as a result of Zionist child-killing missile strikes on just one school in Minab, while dozens of other children have been wounded or remain trapped under the rubble. This is not the first instance of child-killing carried out by these two rabid and desperate regimes. The deaths of more than 17,000 children in Gaza at the hands of the Zionists, and the deaths of half a million Iraqi children as a result of the criminal sanctions of the United States, have not yet been forgotten. Today’s great crime by Israel and the United States in the killing of Iranian children—alongside the bloodshed inflicted on dozens of residential areas in Tehran and other Iranian cities, and the martyrdom of both military personnel and civilians—is just one example of the eternal stain of shame that also rests on the disgraceful traitors such as Reza Pahlavi.
Today, there are few people in the world who do not know that Iran’s nuclear issue is merely a pretext for implementing the hegemonic plans of the United States in West Asia—plans that the declining American imperialism and its criminal proxy, Israeli Zionism, have harbored for years. In this aggression, which is a blatant violation of all international rules and laws, the entire Western bloc—and at its head NATO—has played a role.
However, Iran’s swift and crushing response to this bloody aggression has once again shown that the Islamic Republic of Iran stands firmly by its commitment to preserve the independence and territorial integrity of our homeland. So far, none of the American military bases in the region, nor the major Israeli centers in Tel Aviv and its other cities, have remained beyond the reach of Iran’s missiles and drones. Today, not only Iranians but people across the world can see that the statements of the Leader of Iran’s Revolution regarding refusing to submit to a treacherous enemy were not mere warlike bravado. The wise words of the Leader of the Revolution in recent days not only demonstrate the Commander-in-Chief’s awareness of the enemy’s deceitful plots, but also reflect Iran’s firm determination to defend itself.
Throughout their turbulent history, Iranians have shown that they have always defended their country’s soil against foreign invasions with selfless sacrifice. The resilience of Iranians in the face of hardship has been the key to their victory over enemies. Iran is the land of brave people who have arisen from diverse ethnicities and religions and have prevailed over their enemies on the battlefield. Mercenaries and foreign-serving lackeys have neither understood this heroic spirit, psyche, and culture of the Iranian people, nor conveyed it to their feeble masters.
This time as well, the treacherous enemies of the Iranian people have stepped onto a path from which there is no return—a path that will bring them nothing but defeat. This is a reality that many analysts and political figures among the Americans and the Zionists themselves have also acknowledged. The Western world will once again see with its own eyes how it has miscalculated in confronting an ancient country with a brave and battle-hardened people forged through imposed wars.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is not alone in this decisive struggle. Its regional and global allies, along with the awakened conscience of the world, stand in support of our country. We, the people of Iran, will once again stand shoulder to shoulder and hand in hand, in unity and solidarity with our regional and global friends and supporters, and will smash the enemy’s head against the stone. Iran’s victory will change the balance of power in the region and the world, and will guarantee the victory of the peoples of the world who seek liberation over Western imperialism, headed by the United States.
