TEHRAN, (MNA) – Some European states have reacted to the Israeli regime's aggression on Iran, calling for Iran's restraint while refusing to condemn the aggression.

Different European countries have opted for silence after the Israeli regime's airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites and civilian areas in cities across the country early on Friday.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov condemned the sharp escalation in tensions between Israel and Iran and expressed concern after the Israeli strikes on Iran, according to Russia’s Interfax news agency.

France ‘closely monitoring developments’ after Israeli strikes on Iran, says foreign minister

France is keeping close watch on the escalating security situation in the region following Israel’s strikes against Iran, said French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot in a French-language post on X.

“France is closely monitoring developments in the Middle East, in close coordination with its partners. We call on all parties to act with restraint and to avoid any escalation that could undermine regional stability,” writes Barrot.

He added that France has “repeatedly expressed our deep concerns regarding Iran’s nuclear program.”

The Czech foreign minister says that Israeli strikes on Iran were a reasonable response given Tehran’s nuclear ambitions and support for groups seeking to destroy Israel.

Iran “is supporting so many players, including the Hezbollah and Hamas movements, with the intention to destroy the state of Israel, and also seeking a nuclear bomb,” Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky told reporters in Prague.

UK government calls for restraint after Israeli aggressionThe United Kingdom Prime Minister  Keir Starmer has called on "all parties" to reduce tensions, after Israel launched a series of airstrikes on nuclear sites and civilian areas in Iran. 

"The reports of these strikes are concerning and we urge all parties to step back and reduce tensions urgently. 

"Escalation serves no one in the region. 

"Stability in the Middle East must be the priority and we are engaging partners to de-escalate."

"Now is the time for restraint, calm and a return to diplomacy."
