
During the meeting, Amir Abdollahian and Nasrallah exchanged views on different issues and reviewed the latest developments in Lebanon and the region.
Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Mohammad Jalal Firouznia also accompanied Amir Abdollahian in the meeting.
During his visit to Beirut, met and held talks with Lebanon’s Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
In the second leg of his regional trip, Amir Abdollahian arrived in Lebanese capital of Beirut on Thursday after visiting Syrian capital of Damascus.
Amir Abdollahian in a meeting with Syrian president’s National Security Advisor Ali Mamlouk on Wednesday underlined that Tehran will continue support for the government and people of Syria.
During the meeting in Damascus on Wednesday, the two officials discussed bilateral ties as well as other issues of mutual interest.
Amir Abdollahian, for his part, referred to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s relentless efforts in campaign against terrorism and extremism in the region, and assured the Syrian security advisor about Iran’s continued support for the Syrian government and nation.
Also, Mamlouk hailed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s dominant role in strengthening the regional peace and security, specially in campaign against the terrorist groups.
"The unique role played by martyred Major General Qassem Soleimani in that respect is quite respectable," he added.
Amir Abdollahian arrived in Damascus on Wednesday morning at the head of a high-level delegation to hold talks with senior state officials on regional and international developments and ways to enhance bilateral relations.
While in Damascus, he also held meetings with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad.
