The group of anonymous hackers say they are also planning to leak sensitive data from the Israeli Ministry of Defense
The leak, made public on 26 October, mainly consists of 12 Excel files with a full list of names, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and residential addresses of the occupation forces, as well their correspondence with their units.
Photos of Defense Minister Benny Gantz were also posted by the group on 25 October, along with a warning saying: “We know every decision you make and will hit you where you least expect it. We have secret Defense Ministry documents, operational military maps and troop deployment information and will publish your crimes to the world.”
Other files leaked consist of information on thousands of Israeli teenagers set to enlist with the occupation troops, including those in pre-service programs.
Besides names, addresses and phone numbers, the files also contain sensitive personal information such as psychological profiles and the socio-economic status of the soldiers’ families.
Moses Staff is a group of hackers that previously targeted the Israeli Post Company, as well as some independent companies in the occupied territories. They began their work long ago, but Telegram blocked their channel, so they launched another channel on October 22.
After their original Telegram channel was blocked, on 22 October the group launched a new one with a message that read: “While you can’t imagine it, we are tracking you. This is just the beginning… Wait for hot news through next 48 hours, you will be surprised by us.”
This was followed by release of the sensitive Excel files, surprising Israeli media.
“It’s very surprising that my information has been leaked. Knowing that anyone can see my ID number and maybe use it is scary. I’m really shocked. It’s my privacy. It’s an illusion and stressful I hope someone in Israel tries to stop this situation,” an former Israeli soldier told state-run TV.
