TEHRAN- The 5th edition of Farsi Cinema Awards ceremony took place at Tehran's Art Bureau on Saturday, honoring four Iranian films without a winner.

During the ceremony, the films "The Morning of The Execution," "Open Arms," "Parvin," and "Parviz Khan" were recognized for their efforts in preserving the Farsi language and maintaining correct language usage in their productions.

Organized by the Office for the Preservation of the Persian Language of the Art Bureau, the event was attended by film directors, screenwriters, linguists, and cultural officials.

Naser Feiz, the director of the Office for the Preservation of the Persian Language, highlighted the long-standing focus on preserving the Persian language in the Art Bureau and congratulated the bureau for emphasizing the importance of the language in various fields.

“Great poets have been active in the field, and the art field, with the allure it has created for literature related to the Sacred Defense, has turned literature of the Sacred Defense into one of the most popular areas of literature and created brilliant works in this field," he noted.

Feiz highlighted, "The Office for the Preservation of the Persian Language was established with the aim of more interaction with the actors in the field of the Persian language. Our goal with this ceremony is to establish the first serious connection with the people of film and cinema who have paid attention to the Persian language. I congratulate the Art Bureau for taking the step to focus on the Persian language in various fields."

For his part, Mehdi Salehi, the secretary of the 5th Farsi Cinema Awards explained that the award considers how much attention films pay to the Farsi language, dialect, correct pronunciation, subtitles, and correct Persian spelling, as well as the compatibility of different elements in terms of dialogue and other aspects.

He hopes the award will evolve into the Secretariat of Language and Cinema, fostering generations well-versed in cinema and leading to more powerful films in terms of language.

Starring Arastou Khoshrazm and Masoud Sharif, “The Morning of The Execution” delves into the final moments of Tayyeb Haj Rezai and Esmaeil Rezai, sentenced to death after the June 15, 1963 uprising.

"Open Arms" features three stories of couples navigating emotional relationships and seeking a new definition of love.

“Parvin” is about the life story of Parvin Etesami (1907-1940), one of the most prominent Persian poets of the 20th century.

“Parviz Khan” is a biographical film centered on the late Iranian football player and coach Parviz Dehdari (1935-1992), who served as the head coach of Persepolis F.C., Homa F.C., and the national football team during his coaching career.
