“The first goal was to increase Islamic countries’ awareness about Palestine, and therefore, it created a unified media approach in Islamic countries on fighting with Israeli occupiers,” he said, referring to the importance of International Quds Day.
“Imam Khomeini also succeeded to restore the religious, national, and regional spirit to the status of Palestine,” Farouk added.
“It is widely believed that Imam Khomeini took a huge step in making unity among Islamic nations towards the Palestinian issue. The impact of the designation of Quds Day in the last Friday of Ramadan is to the extent that imperialistic Western media have reported about its effect repeatedly,” the Egyptian figure said.
Referring to Imam Khomeini’s metaphor of Israel as a “cancerous tumor”, Abdel Khalek Farouk underlined that “the description was totally accurate. Cancer expands its malign presence in the body and it disrupts body activities to end the life. The continuation of Israel’s existence would pose a threat against the economic-political status of Islamic and Arabic countries.”
